Hoda Yassa, head of the Arab Women Investors Union and chair of the ‘Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation Summit’, recently announced the selection of Qatar Chamber board member and president of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum, Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani, as a member of the union’s board of trustees and advisor to the union’s supreme commercial committee.
This came at the conclusion of the summit, held from November 11 to 15 in Cairo and Aswan, Egypt. Al Ahmadani participated in the five-day summit and the accompanying exhibition held in Aswan, attended by delegations from 35 Arab and African countries.

Emphasising women’s critical role in the economy, she noted that empowering women and supporting productive families are essential strategies for achieving sustainable economic growth. She added that with the right tools, supportive environment, and necessary resources, women can make a significant impact.
She urged civil society organisations and governments to foster an enabling environment that encourages innovation and supports small, medium, and micro enterprises, where both women and men work together to build a strong and sustainable knowledge-based economy. (TNN)
