The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) in Qatar marked Children’s Day with a vibrant cultural celebration during its weekly Wednesday Fiesta on November 13. The event, held in ICC’s premises, was a lively tribute to children, showcasing dramatic performances and colorful group dances that left the audience enthralled.

The celebration highlighted the significance of Children’s Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first prime minister, known for his deep affection for children and vision for their education and welfare.

Dr. Abhilasha Singh Panwar, a renowned educationalist and the event’s chief guest, addressed the gathering. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of nurturing creativity and fostering a sense of cultural pride among children. Her words resonated with parents, teachers, and the young participants alike, inspiring them to embrace holistic development.

The programme began with a heartfelt welcome by Shantanu Deshpande, ICC’s head of school activities, who acknowledged the efforts of all participants and organizers in making the event a success.

ICC Vice President Subramanya Hebbagelu expressed gratitude to the community for their enthusiastic response to ICC’s cultural initiatives. He also highlighted ICC’s ongoing efforts to support children’s education and engagement through diverse programs and activities.

The event proceedings were skillfully anchored by Nandini Abbagouni, ICC’s head of cultural activities, who kept the audience engaged with her dynamic presentation.

A vote of thanks was delivered by Satyanarayana Malireddy, ICC’s head of inhouse activities. He commended the participants, parents, and ICC’s dedicated team for their efforts in creating a memorable celebration.

The occasion was also attended by ICC General Secretary Mohan Kumar, other ICC MC members, presidents of associated organisations, and prominent leaders of the Indian community.
