He said there is a plan to increase Al-Mutawa’s branch offices across the country.
He said, “We started Al- Mutawa Office with only one branch in Hamad Hospital. Now, we have four offices in four hospitals.”
“Al-Mutawa’s office is witnessing an increasing demand by patients, visitors and medical staff. It receives about 700 calls from patients’ rooms per month and nearly 400 visits to the offices to respond to the patients’ questions and inquiries and request for advocacy books,” he added.
In terms of patient programmes, Al-Mutawa Office has daily visits, including providing advice during emergency situation in intensive care and critical cases, and responding to patients’ questions and inquiries, as well as distribution of the Qur’an and booklets in Arabic and different languages, including English, Urdu, Hindi, among others.
Qahtani said, “We provide lectures and daily lessons in the hospitals’ mosques on the virtue of patience in case of illness and how a person should thank God in all situations.
“We let the people realise that the true believer should be aware that everything that comes from God is good and must know that the disease is only an atonement and remission of sins. Man should not express grief or anger at the written fate of God.”
According to him, Al-Mutawa Office in Hamad Medical Corporation hospitals is witnessing an increasing demand from patients, visitors and medical staff.
He said the office preaches hope and patience to patients from different nationalities, both Muslims and non-Muslims alike, in their rooms, during emergency and intensive care and short stay.
“Al-Matawa Office considers the patient’s psychological condition, which is a very important aspect in the therapeutic phase. We work to meet the psychological, spiritual and religious needs of the patients through words of advice by preachers and sheikhs,” Qahtani said.
“We have cooperation between Al-Mutawa Office and the Abdullah Bin Zaid Islamic Cultural Center, which nominates many experienced preachers who take turns to visit the patients on a regular basis,” he added.
