DOHA: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has implemented a marine environment monitoring programme on board the research vessel “Janan”, in cooperation with the Environmental Sciences Centre at Qatar University, to monitor and assess the marine environment in the economic zone of the State of Qatar.
The program was implemented by a team from the Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department, Marine Environment and Soil Quality Division, at the Ministry, where nearly 700 samples of seawater and sediments were collected and analyzed, and are being analyzed in the environmental laboratory from the physical, chemical and biological aspects.
