QIIB has once again been awarded the prestigious ISO 27001:2022 certification for its Information Security Management System, reaffirming its leadership in cybersecurity. This marks the second consecutive year that QIIB has received this certification, having been among the first institutions in Qatar to meet the updated standards when they were introduced.
ISO 27001 is internationally recognised as one of the highest certifications for institutions that meet stringent requirements in information security and customer data protection.
It underscores QIIB’s commitment to adopting a robust approach to cybersecurity risks, offering comprehensive protection at multiple levels while safeguarding customer data against emerging threats.
Commenting on the achievement, QIIB Risks Sector Head Mohammad Jamil Ahmad Hamad said, “QIIB’s continued leadership in cybersecurity and unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards for customer data protection is a positive reflection of our priorities. Obtaining ISO 27001:2022 certification confirms our dedication to implementing enhanced data privacy controls, aligning with Qatar Law No. (13) of 2016 on personal data protection.”
He further emphasised that the bank’s robust security standards are crucial as it continues its digital transformation journey. With most of its services and products now accessible through digital channels, QIIB has significantly enhanced operational efficiency while boosting customer confidence in its offerings.
Hamad said, “We continuously enhance our systems and programmes to stay aligned with the advancements of the digital age and global banking sector standards.”
