An orientation programme for Class IX students was hosted recently by the Science India Forum, Qatar on Bhavan’s Public School’s Wakra campus. Brajesh Pandey, Professor at Symbiosis Science and Technology Institute, Pune was the resource person of the day, while Principal MP Philip welcomed the guest speaker.
Dr Pandey’s session dwelt on hands-on physics experiments. The session, which began with experiments from classical mechanics, fascinated the students to identify and understand the basic laws of motion. He continued the demonstration with optics and fluid mechanics. The students were asked to identify the laws and state it. With a wonderful demonstration, he explained the dual nature of light and also demonstrated why light is an electromagnetic wave.
The students also got a chance to clarify the concepts as the session proved instrumental in generating ample excitement and curiosity among pupils to study Physics.
Nikhil V Johns, faculty member from the Science Department, proposed the vote of thanks.
