The Delta Corporation Qatar cricket team secured the Delta Premier League 2024 trophy with an impressive all-round display against D- Clad in the final, held on November 15 at the Qatar Foundation Stadium.
D-Clad earned their place in the final after defeating DServ-Qatar in Eliminator 2, with DServ finishing in the third place.
The tournament held from November 1-15 and concluded on 15th November, featured a total of 12 participating teams - Delta Corporation - Qatar; D-Clad; DServ – Qatar; DServ – KSA; Delta Corporation – Kuwait; Delta Corporation – USA; Delta Corporation – KSA; Delta Corporation – Oman; Delta Pressure Control; Delta Well Services; QINCC; and QINCC - UAE - showcasing exciting matches throughout the league.
Group CEO Wesam Swelem praised the initiative, stating, “Events like these are more than just sports; they bring our teams together, strengthen bonds, and remind us of the power of collaboration and unity in achieving great results. Employee engagement is a cornerstone of our success, and we will continue to invest in initiatives that inspire and empower our workforce.”
The tournament was also lauded by the COO of Delta Corporation, Omran Karama, who emphasised its significance in fostering a dynamic workplace. “This tournament is a testament to our commitment to creating a vibrant and inclusive work environment. It’s not just about the competition but about fostering camaraderie, resilience, and teamwork—values that drive our organisation forward,” he remarked.
HR Operations Manager Muhammad Irfan highlighted the event’s impact on employee morale and engagement. “Organising activities like this tournament is a key part of our strategy to engage our employees meaningfully. Such events enhance job satisfaction, instill a sense of belonging, and contribute to a culture of mutual respect and collaboration. Seeing the enthusiasm and energy from all teams has been truly rewarding,” he shared.
After the thrilling final match, an awards ceremony was held to honor the outstanding performances of the tournament. Trophies were presented to the winning team, runner-up, and second runner-up, recognizing their achievements on the field.
Individual accolades included “Man of the Match,” “Man of the Series,” “Best Bowler,” and “Best Batsman.” Gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded to the top three teams, while the players of the winning team were gifted iPhones, and the runner-up team received I-watches as part of their recognition.
The tournament not only showcased outstanding talent but also reinforced the company’s commitment to creating a positive work environment.
