The Orphan Care Center ‘Dreama’ participated in the Qatar National Day celebrations with an awareness booth at Qatar Social Work tent at Darb Al Saai.
Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser al Misnad, executive director of Dreama, said: “Dreama Center has always been a participant in these national annual celebrations aiming to instil the identity and sense of belonging to our country into Dreama’s children and encourage their interaction with other children. The events also aim to integrate the children into the society and ensure their involvement in the national events to express their love for their country.
“The National Day slogan, ‘Qatar Will Remain Free’, confirms the commitment of this generation who believe in their country and its great legacy. Qatar has remained committed to the values of justice, dignity and humanity. Qatar has been an oasis of security, peace and tranquillity for its citizens, residents and visitors. The National Day has become a source of inspiration for our people that incarnates the values of unity with and loyalty to our wise leadership.”
Dreama participated this year, along with community centres working under the umbrella of Qatar Social Work, with an awareness booth that shed lights on the centre and the services it offers. The awareness booth also included a competition corner and a children’s games area.
Dreama booth also screened a documentary on the organisation. A puzzle game at the booth allowed visitors to put in order a variety of pictures that showcase the objectives of Dreama and rights of the orphans with respect to education, health, security and communications with others. The pictures, when property arranged together, carried messages aiming at raising awareness of orphans’ issues such as fostering, social integration and empowerment.
