DOHA: In October, 730 families in Qatar received financial assistance totaling QR18.8 million, as reported by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. The exact amount distributed was QR18,827,512.

Mohammed Hassan al-Tamimi, head of the Zakat Disbursements Section, emphasized the Zakat Affairs Department's commitment to ensuring that Zakat contributions from individuals and companies reach eligible beneficiaries among registered families in Qatar. The distribution of aid is conducted in accordance with established guidelines, Sharia principles, and approved methods.

The financial assistance provided in October consisted of two categories. The first was ongoing monthly support for qualifying families, amounting to QR8,226,747. The second category was a one-time lump-sum aid, granted as needed, which totaled QR10,600,765, according to the official.

Those eligible for assistance can apply through the Zakat Affairs Department's website atwww.zakat.gov.qa. Applicants must complete the necessary documentation and upload it as per the provided instructions.

Status updates regarding applications are communicated to applicants via text messages. Additionally, individuals and companies can fulfill their Zakat obligations through the Zakat Affairs Department's website or at various collection offices and points throughout the country.
