DOHA: The National Cyber Security Agency has obtained the Tier III certification in design and implementation from the Uptime Institute, a prestigious international certification that confirms the agency's commitment to the highest standards of quality and efficiency in building and operating data centers.
The Agency’s main data centre obtaining this certificate is evidence of its ability to design and implement an advanced operating environment that ensures the continuity of operations, with the possibility of performing preventive maintenance and repairs without affecting business continuity or disrupting services.
Engineer Sarah Hassan Al Abdulmalik, Director of the Information Systems Department, said that obtaining this certificate by the new data centre confirms the agency’s continuous efforts to improve the level and quality of infrastructure management and electronic services, especially in the field of operational excellence. It also contributes to enhancing capabilities to provide reliable cybersecurity services, which is among the priorities of developing operations plans in the Information Systems Department.
She added: "This accreditation gains a leading position in assessing the globally recognized standards for the reliability of data center performance at the national level, the priority behaviors and risks in data center operations, and the application of commitment to recommended behaviors to achieve full performance of the installed infrastructure, reduce the risks of downtime and avoid human errors.”
She pointed out that the success achieved can be summed up in setting a clear strategy, forming a distinguished executive team of qualified and experienced individuals in the field, investing in human resources and focusing on the national element to achieve operational sustainability, expressing her pride in this achievement, as it is one of the important government data centers in the State of Qatar that has achieved the third-level design and implementation certificates the first time.
Obtaining this international accreditation for the main data centre is considered an important step within the framework of the National Cyber Security Agency’s strategy to enhance cybersecurity readiness and develop technical solutions that support the protection of national interests and ensure business continuity with the highest levels of security and reliability.
