CAIRO: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has met with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt HE Dr Badr Abdel Aati.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, expand trade exchange and joint cooperation to serve the aspirations of the two countries, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, especially facilitating the entry of humanitarian and relief aid to all areas of the Strip without obstacles, in addition to developments in Lebanon and a number of topics of common interest.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the ceasefire agreement in the Lebanese Republic, expressing his hope that it would lead to a similar agreement to stop the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip and the Israeli attacks on the occupied West Bank.
He also noted the strategic role played by the Arab Republic of Egypt in establishing security and peace in the region through its efforts aimed at resolving regional issues, most notably the Palestinian issue.
