The Ministry of Labour (MoL), represented by the National Manpower Employment Department and the Department of Qualifying Skills and Development, participated in the Career Fair organised by the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), held from November 26 to 27, with the participation of local and international institutions and organisations.

The ministry’s participation in the Career Fair comes as part of its efforts to achieve the objectives of the Private Sector Job Nationalisation Law by developing the national workforce and building a base of Qatari talent prepared to enter the labour market. This is in line with the Third National Development Strategy 2024–2030, which aims to empower Qataris and children of Qatari women to become individuals capable of competing for private sector jobs.

During the exhibition, representatives from the Ministry of Labour presented information about educational institutions and the academic programmes they offer across various degree levels.

They also introduced the incentives and benefits provided by the ministry to support students and prepare them for private sector employment.

They highlighted the training and development opportunities available for Qatari university graduates and children of Qatari women seeking employment.

Students were also introduced to the Private Sector Government Scholarship Programme, the private sector summer training programme, which will soon open on the ministry’s website and the job-oriented training programme.

The Career Fair is a unique opportunity to support nationalisation efforts by providing a platform that brings together university students, recent graduates, employers, government institutions, and private sector companies in one place. It also reflects the effective partnership between the Ministry of Labour and these organisations to offer career opportunities for Qatari students and graduates that align with their future career aspirations.

Through its participation in the fair, the Ministry of Labour aims to enhance students’ and recent graduates’ understanding of the professional skills and qualifications required in vital private sector industries. It also seeks to guide university students in choosing majors that are in demand within the strategic economic sectors covered by the Nationalisation Law.
