The Qatar Armed Forces have joined the Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) Evaluation and Feedback Programme for the partner countries with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

The decision to join the OCC was made following the completion of the evaluation process under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, in the presence of Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces, Lt Gen. Qatar is the only country from the Middle East to join this programme, having successfully completed all evaluation levels in a record time, in comparison to other NATO partner countries, which can take a period of up to four years to obtain the recognition certificate.
