BUDAPEST: Hungarian President HE Tamas Solyok has received Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the President of Hungary, and His Highness's wishes for his good health and happiness, and for the people of Hungary continued progress and prosperity.
For his part, the President of Hungary conveyed his greetings to His Highness the Amir, wishing His Highness good health and happiness, and the Qatari people further progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, they reviewed relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them in various fields, in addition to a number of topics of common interest.
Expressing the depth of cooperation between the State of Qatar and Hungary, the President of Hungary awarded the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs the Order of Merit in appreciation of the pioneering role played by the State of Qatar in the regional and international arenas, and in appreciation of its efforts in settling armed conflicts by peaceful means.
The medal is one of the highest honours in Hungary, and is awarded by the President to honour individuals who have made a distinguished contribution in fields such as culture, arts, science, and public service.
