CAIRO: The State of Qatar has added a new achievement to its record of innovation and technical development, as the Ministry of Interior won the award for the best Arab smart government application for the 'Metrash2' application, as part of the Arab Government Excellence Awards competition, which is organized under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States to honour pioneering models of government work at the level of the Arab world.

The award was presented at an official ceremony held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo on Thursday, in the presence of Brigadier Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, Director of the Public Relations Department - Head of the Delegation, and a number of senior officers from the Ministry of Interior.

The award was received by Brigadier Jassim Al Buhashim Al Sayed, Director General of Communications and Information Systems and Secretary of the Minister of Interior for Coordination and Follow-up.
