The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) celebrated the winners of the Qatar Digital Business Award 2024 during a prestigious ceremony on Wednesday.
Attended by Minister of Communications and Information Technology HE Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai alongside esteemed dignitaries, industry leaders, and digital innovators, the event underscored Qatar’s commitment to fostering creativity and excellence in the digital sector.
This year’s edition of the award recognised 16 winners across 14 categories, celebrating their exceptional contributions to Qatar’s digital transformation journey. The initiative, aligned with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, aims to enhance technological capabilities, encourage entrepreneurship, and promote the adoption of innovative digital solutions to strengthen Qatar’s competitiveness on a regional and global scale.
In his keynote address, Al Mannai emphasised the transformative role of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and 5G networks in driving economic diversification. He highlighted the critical contributions of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs in shaping a robust and dynamic digital economy. He also noted Qatar’s commitment to cultivating digital talent, with the number of specialists in the field doubling over the past decade to reach 21,000.
The award drew 303 applications from 132 companies and institutions, representing a wide range of sectors. These applications were evaluated by an independent jury of 23 experts who assessed them based on criteria such as creativity, innovation, and impact. Reflecting the evolving digital landscape, this year’s edition introduced four new categories to encourage greater diversity and address emerging market needs.
Assistant Undersecretary of Digital Industry Affairs at MCIT Reem Al Mansoori lauded the strong competition and creativity demonstrated by this year’s participants. She noted the significant progress in digital technology adoption across Qatar’s public and private sectors and reaffirmed the award’s role in fostering a vibrant and inclusive digital economy.
The winners of the Qatar Digital Business Award 2024 included: ADGS Computer Systems - Research and Development Excellence, SkipCash - Best Smart Solution, Mannai - Best Smart Solution, Sponix Tech LLC- Best AI Solution, Wellkins Medical Center - Best Digital Transformation, Wqtah QSTP – Best Company in Digital Commerce, Qatar Chemical Company LTD- Best Digital Transformation, Hamad Mubarak Al Hajri - Entrepreneur of the Year, Cytomate - Best Cybersecurity Solution, Malomatia - Best Cybersecurity Solution, Meeza QSTP LLC - Best ICT Services Provider, Hamad International Airport (DOH) - Best AI Solution, Qatar National Bank (QNB) - Best Digital Experience, M Care Technology - Startup of the Year, Adeer Solution LLC - Best Mobile App and Techno Q - Best Systems Integrators.
Al Mansoori expressed gratitude to the award’s partners, including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank, the National Cyber Security Agency, and others, as well as sponsors like Cisco Networking Academy and PwC, for their contributions to the event’s success.
