DOHA: Qatar Tourism and Mwani Qatar welcomed the cruise ship 'Celestyal Journey' carrying more than 1,200 tourists. It is scheduled to depart from Doha Port on a seven-day cruise across the Arabian Gulf.
The arrival of Celestyal Journey is a highlight of Qatar’s 2024/25 cruise season, which is scheduled to feature 95 cruise calls, including 33 return calls, 11 departures from Doha and 5 maiden calls at Doha Port.
“The arrival of Celestyal Journey at Doha Port is a milestone in our partnership with Celestyal, further strengthening Qatar’s position as a leading tourism destination in the Arabian Gulf region,” said Omar Al Jaber, Chief Tourism Development Officer at Qatar Tourism, during the launch of the ship’s first voyage.
“This collaboration highlights Qatar’s growing appeal as a destination that offers unique cultural and travel experiences. We are proud to partner with Mwani Qatar to deliver seamless operations and an enriching guest experience that reflects Qatar’s hospitality and diverse tourism offerings.”
For his part, Abdulrahman Saad Al Baker, Director of Doha Port, expressed his happiness with the launch of the inaugural voyage of the ship 'Celestyal Journey', as Doha Port will be the main port for the ship during the next three seasons.
“This achievement reinforces the position of Doha Port, under the management of Mwani Qatar, as a major gateway for maritime tourism in the region, and underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance the tourism sector in Qatar,” he added.
He pointed out that the selection of Doha Port as a home port for Celestyal Journey reflects the growing confidence in Qatar’s world-class maritime infrastructure, and is in line with the country’s vision to promote sustainable tourism and the sector’s contribution to the national economy.

Celestyal Journey can accommodate 1,260 passengers with a crew of 630. It has 14 decks and includes seven diverse restaurants, other facilities dedicated to fitness and health, swimming pools and a modern gym, in addition to a theater and a children’s club.
