The event began with a traditional ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising enlightenment and unity. President Ravi Shetty was joined in this inaugural ritual by Jyothi Ravi Shetty, Advisory Committee Chairman Mahesh Gowda, and former Presidents Arun Kumar, VS Mannangi, Deepak Shetty, Madhu HK, Sanjay Kudari, and Milan Arun, who is a former President of the Indian Cultural Centre.
The dignitaries included ICC Vice President Subramanya Hebbagelu, senior members Satish BR, and other management committee members.
President Ravi Shetty, in his address, reflected on the journey of Karnataka Sangha Qatar over the past two and a half decades. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to former presidents, committee members, volunteers, and sponsors for their pivotal contributions to the organisation’s growth and success. He shared how humbled and privileged he and his team felt to lead the Sangha during this landmark silver jubilee year.
A key moment of the celebration was the release of the Rajata Geethe (Silver Anthem), a specially composed anthem penned by former president HK Madhu. This was unveiled by Milan Arun through a live YouTube broadcast, which garnered widespread appreciation from both the audience present at the event and viewers online. The anthem, embodying the spirit and pride of the Sangha, will also feature prominently during the upcoming Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations on November 15.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, a new banner featuring the Silver Jubilee Logo was unveiled, marking the beginning of a year-long series of celebratory events. Several former presidents and senior members took the stage to share their memories, highlighting the Sangha’s growth, achievements, and the strong sense of community it has fostered among Kannadigas in
Qatar.
The programme, skillfully anchored by general secretary Kumar Swamy, concluded on a warm note with refreshments served to allattendees.
