Italy will host the next three Davis Cup finals weeks, with the 2025 edition concluding in Bologna, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) said on Monday.
“Italy has a rich history in tennis and a proven ability to host world-class sporting events,” ITF president David Haggerty said in a statement.
The announcement came alongside the draw for the 2025 first-round qualifiers in February, which 2023 and 2024 champions Italy can skip.
Beaten 2024 finalists the Netherlands also have a bye to the second round.
Third seeds Canada take on Hungary and Britain face Japan. The US meet Taiwan (called Chinese Taipei by the ITF) and Spain play Switzerland, with both Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer now retired.
Malaga in Spain held the finals of the men’s team competition for the past three years.
