Jack Doohan will race for Alpine in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix on Sunday as he looks to make a head start before taking the permanent race seat next year. The French team has confirmed that the 21-year-old Australian will replace Esteban Ocon, who is leaving for Haas. Doohan, son of five-time motorcycle world champion Mick Doohan, came out on top against Mick Schumacher in an Alpine evaluation a few weeks ago. German Schumacher, the son of seven-times F1 champion Michael, now looks to have left F1 for good after quitting as a Mercedes reserve. Schumacher will drive for Alpine in the World Endurance Championship next year. Ocon will test for Haas in the days after the F1 finale in Abu Dhabi. (DPA)
