The Orphans Care Center (Dreama) and Al-Nahda Primary School for Girls, in collaboration with the Palestinian School, organised an event titled ‘Al-Nahda for Palestine’ at Al-Nahda National School, coinciding with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The initiative aimed to strengthen solidarity with the Palestinian people through a meaningful and cultural programme.
The event was attended by Khalid Mohammed Al Kuwari, acting CEO of Qatar Social Work; HE Fayez Majed, Ambassador of Palestine to Qatar; Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al-Thani, executive director of Dreama; as well as members of the Palestinian Embassy and Dr Yahya Al-Agha, director of the Palestinian School.
Munira Al Mannai, director of Al-Nahda Primary School for Girls, delivered a heartfelt opening speech, emphasising the school’s dedication to humanitarian and national causes. She remarked, “The Palestinian cause symbolises truth and justice. Supporting it is a duty that instills solidarity and unity in future generations.”
Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al-Thani highlighted the importance of the event, stating, “Our participation reflects our commitment to social responsibility and fostering compassion and belonging in future generations. Palestine remains alive in our hearts, and we thank Al-Nahda Primary School for their collaboration in making this event a success.”
The event featured a variety of cultural and educational activities, including the recitation of the Qatari and Palestinian national anthems, a presentation on the Palestinian issue, the segment ‘Voices from Palestine’, a short play titled ‘Dreams Under Siege’, and the performance of a traditional Palestinian chant. The program concluded with a tour of the Palestinian exhibition, which showcased cultural artifacts and traditional crafts.
Attendees praised the organisers for their efforts in highlighting the Palestinian cause and promoting values of solidarity and unity with the Palestinian people.
