Pakistan spinner Sufiyan Muqeem took a career-best 5-3 to help his side thrash Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the second of their three-match T20 series.

Zimbabwe chose to bat and, after reaching 37 in 27 balls, were skittled out for 57 in 12.4 overs as they made their lowest score in the format.

Muqeem did most of the damage, with the left-armer taking five wickets in just 2.4 overs.

Pakistan reached their target with 87 balls to spare.

Saim Ayub scored 36 from 18 balls and fellow opener Omair Yousuf hit 22 from 15 balls in what was Pakistan’s largest ever win by the number of deliveries remaining.

Pakistan will be aiming to complete a 3-0 series victory when the teams play again on Thursday.

With his stunning figures of 5/3, Muqeem etched his name in history, recording the best-ever bowling figures for Pakistan in T20I cricket.

The left-arm spinner surpassed former pacer Umar Gul’s record of 5/6 against New Zealand in 2009.

Muqeem became part of an elite group of bowlers from Full Member nations who have taken a five-wicket haul in T20Is while conceding fewer than five runs.

Scores: Zimbabwe 57 all out (12.4 overs): Bennett 21, Muqeem 5-3; lost to Pakistan 61-0 (5.3 overs): Ayub 36 by

10 wickets.
