LONDON: His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and UK Prime Minister HE Keir Starmer held an official session of talks at 10 Downing Street in the British capital, London.
During the session, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them were discussed, as well as to benefit from the opportunities available to the two countries at all levels, especially in the fields of economy, investment, education and defence.
A number of regional and international issues of common interest were also discussed, especially developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.At the beginning of the session, His Highness the Amir expressed his thanks to the British Prime Minister for the warm reception, expressing his happiness with this visit that allowed him to meet His Majesty King Charles III and the royal family, noting that he will discuss with the Prime Minister opportunities to strengthen cooperation and the latest developments in Gaza and the Middle East.
The British Prime Minister expressed his warm welcome to His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation, and his happiness with His Highness's first visit after assuming the premiership, stressing the depth of relations between the two countries.
The session was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, and a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir.
The British side was also attended by Chancellor of the Exchequer HE Rachel Reeves, Minister of State for Energy Security HE Ed Miliband, Minister of Defence HE John Healey, and a number of senior officials.
