Al Shaqab has announced its participation in this year’s Darb Al Saai celebrations, held in Umm Salal from December 10 to 18. As part of its enduring commitment to celebrating Qatar’s National Day, Al Shaqab will host a range of equestrian-related activities that highlight the importance of purebred Arabian horses and the rich equestrian traditions of Qatar.

Aiming to engage visitors of all ages, Al Shaqab’s activities offer a close-up introduction to Qatari heritage, focusing particularly on the historical significance and ancient uses of Arabian horses. By fostering a love for horses and encouraging horseback riding, especially among children, Al Shaqab seeks to promote this integral aspect of Qatari culture and pass it on to future generations.

This year, Al Shaqab will delight young visitors with pony riding activities, a perennial favorite among children. In addition, heritage shows and parades will be performed by riders from the Equine Education Academy at Al Shaqab, showcasing the enduring beauty and elegance of Qatar’s equestrian traditions.

Mohammed Al Khayarin, Manager of the Equine Education Department at Al Shaqab, stated, “National Day is a special occasion to celebrate our country’s remarkable achievements and to honor Qatar’s rich heritage. Through our participation in Darb Al Saai, we aim to highlight the significance of Arabian horses and their deep-rooted connection to our culture. Our diverse activities are designed to inspire a love for horses among the younger generations, preserving this integral part of our ancestors’ legacy.”

The events of Darb al Saai, encompassing the way of life in the past, contribute to portraying a vivid image of historical atmosphere.
