The English Modern School has been recognised with an Award of Appreciation by the Private Education Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) in Qatar. This award celebrates the school’s remarkable efforts in organizing and delivering the fourth season of the Arabic Language Forum under the theme ‘Arabic Language in the Age of Artificial Intelligence’. For the first time, the forum was held under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar.

The Arabic Language Forum, initiated by The English Modern School in 2018 at the Al Khor Campus Multi-Purpose Room (MPR), has grown into a significant platform for promoting the Arabic language and culture through multiple workshop sessions. Since its inception, the forum has provided a space for meaningful dialogue about the evolving role of Arabic in the modern world, particularly about advancements in artificial intelligence and technology.

This year, the forum was held over two days, featuring both opening and closing events. The opening included a dramatic play, Holy Quran recitations, a choral performance by non-Arabic speaking students, and a poetry presentation, all organized and performed by The English Modern School students. These performances highlighted the students’ deep connection to their mother tongue and showcased the vibrant cultural expression of the Arabic language.

This accolade highlights The English Modern School’s commitment to fostering the Arabic language while equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world. Through initiatives like the forum, the school continues to strengthen students’ connection to their mother tongue while embracing innovation.

“The Arabic Language Forum, which was launched by the Arabic Department at The English Modern School in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has become, over the years, a fundamental pillar in enhancing the status of the Arabic language and highlighting its importance in our ever-changing world. Today, through the forum’s theme ‘Arabic Language in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,’ we continue our journey towards a forward-looking vision that strengthens our language in the era of technology,” said Dr. Jalal Adi, Head of Arabic Program at The English Modern School.

The English Modern School extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry for this acknowledgment, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in education and the preservation and advancement of the Arabic language in the modern era.
