RIYADH: HH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud has announced the establishment of the supreme authority for hosting the 2034 World Cup.
The announcement came after the Gulf country had been officially named the FIFA World Cup 2034 host.
The newly set up authority will be chaired by HH the Saudi Crown Prince and its membership includes ministers, heads of bodies and senior officials.According to observers, the move reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's determination to deliver an exceptional version of the world's key soccer mega event.
The 2034 edition will be the first World Cup to feature 48 teams, up from the current 32-side format.
