The Public Prosecution participated in the two-day World Summit AI Qatar 2024 which had among its participants international as well as local entities.

The wide participation in the summit reflects Qatar’s commitment to supporting research projects and transforming them into government initiatives that enhance its standing in the AI field.

The Public Prosecution took part in the summit through the Qatar AI Pavilion, which included several national entities. During the event, innovative national initiatives aimed at promoting the use of AI technologies were showcased.

Among these initiatives, the Public Prosecution highlighted its digital assistant, developed using generative AI to provide accurate information on legal matters and answer queries regarding the electronic services available through the Public Prosecution’s portal.

The Public Prosecution also presented several projects, including one targeting reports of money laundering and human trafficking.

This project features an AI model for analysing received reports and detecting potential indicators of money laundering or human trafficking, enabling specialized legal examinations.

Other initiatives included the use of virtual reality and AI technologies to enhance investigation skills in major cases such as murder, suicide, and theft, and AI-supported spatial maps for analysing criminal activities and national changes in a comprehensive visual manner.

Participation in this summit marks a significant step towards enhancing the regulatory and legislative role in the use of AI technology. It highlights the importance of establishing a suitable legal framework for the use of this modern technology.

The Public Prosecution’s participation in the summit also provided an opportunity to increase collaboration with other international and local entities participating in the summit, contributing to the exchange of expertise and experiences in the field of AI.
