The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) recently organised a specialised training course to enhance the skills of inspectors and veterinarians, ensuring the highest standards of quality in food safety.
The course covered the latest global techniques and methods for calibrating inspection and measurement equipment, ensuring the accuracy of results obtained during food safety inspections.
A total of 162 inspectors and veterinarians from the ministry participated in the training.
Delivered by a globally accredited organisation, the training included both theoretical and practical sessions, along with workgroups to discuss and apply new concepts. Evaluative tests were conducted daily to assess the participants’ understanding of the material.
Certificates of completion were awarded at the end of the course in the presence of representatives from the Food Safety Department.
Wasan Abdulla Al Baker, director of the Food Safety Department at MoPH, emphasised that the course aimed to enhance accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness in food safety inspections.
Al Baker stated, “Adopting best practices in calibration is essential for improving inspection quality and achieving accurate results. The Food Safety Department is dedicated to providing all necessary conditions to enhance performance, develop skills, and increase efficiency in line with global standards.”
The Food Safety Department is internationally accredited by the American Accreditation Association for inspection in compliance with ISO 17020 standards.
