In line with the directives of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to establish an air bridge to deliver aid to the people of Syria, the Permanent Committee for Rescue, Relief and Humanitarian Aid in disaster-stricken areas of brotherly and friendly countries has reported that the total humanitarian aid provided to date has reached approximately 55 tonnes.
The Committee stated that the humanitarian aid delivered with the participation of a team from the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) included food and medical items, along with shelter supplies.
The committee further stated that on Tuesday, a Qatar Armed Forces aircraft arrived at Marka Military Airport in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, carrying nearly 27 tonnes of aid. Additionally, on Monday, the first aircraft delivering Qatari aid to Syrian brothers landed at Gaziantep Airport in the Republic of Turkey, with approximately 28 tonnes of humanitarian aid onboard.
In addition, the committee oversees the delivery of humanitarian aid and monitors its progress, fulfilling its role as the entity responsible for Qatar-led rescue and relief operations.
These efforts reflect the State of Qatar’s unwavering support for Syria and its steadfast solidarity with the brotherly Syrian people.
