The Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani on Thursday met with the Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang at the Council’s headquarters in Beijing.
The premier welcomed HH the Amir and his accompanying delegation and pointed out that ties with Qatar are proceeding properly and deeply with consistent cooperation.
He also stressed the importance of preserving the relations, especially in view of the events currently taking place in the political arena.
The premier said maintaining strong bilateral relations between Qatar and China has economic, commercial and political benefits for the two countries and peoples.
On his part, HH the Amir hailed the development
of the Qatari-Chinese relations, especially in the political, commercial and other areas, stressing that his visit will open new horizons of cooperation between the two
countries.
HH the Amir pointed out that political and economic conditions in all parts of the world require communication and cooperation between the two countries, and hailed the role played by China in the region, especially in the Arab region, and looked forward to China having a greater role.
Regarding the current Gulf crisis, HH the Amir praised China’s stance, affirming that the only solution to all differences is dialogue.
The meeting also dealt with aspects of supporting and enhancing strategic cooperation between the two countries in various fields such as economy, investment, energy, agriculture, tourism, culture, youth and sports as well as the current issues at the regional and international levels.
The meeting was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir and a number of Chinese ministers and senior officials.
