DOHA: Qatar Charity announced the dispatch of a humanitarian aid convoy to help the Syrians. The convoy includes 40 trucks as a first batch, contributing to meeting their urgent basic needs in light of the recent developments they are experiencing.

This convoy was announced at a press conference held at its launch site on the Syrian-Turkish border, in the presence of a delegation from Qatar Charity headed by Nawaf Al Hammadi, Assistant CEO for the International Operations Sector.

The convoy’s aid falls within the framework of the “Reviving Hope” campaign launched by Qatar Charity to support our Syrians in light of the current situation, as they suffer from difficult living conditions due to the severe shortage of basic materials, supplies and services and the high prices, in conjunction with the harsh winter cold.

The convoy’s aid includes flour, food baskets, winter clothing bags, personal hygiene baskets, non-food item bags, and medical supplies and consumables, and is estimated to cost around QR4.5mn.

Hammadi in a speech on the occasion of the launch of the convoy, said: "The convoy reflects Qatar Charity’s continuous commitment to providing humanitarian support to the affected Syrian people, and we hope to help the displaced and refugees returning to their areas to settle in suitable normal conditions, support their hopes for a better future, and achieve a decent life worthy of them."
