The Pakistan International School (PIS) emerged victorious in a nail-biting final of the QCA Under-19 Cricket Tournament, held at the prestigious UDST Stadium in Doha on 9 December 2024.

In the final against DPS Modern Indian School, OIS displayed exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork to clinch the title by a narrow margin of 4 runs in what turned out to be a thrilling contest.

Batting first, PIS set a competitive 156 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Ibrahim Gulzeb was the star of the innings, showcasing his talent with an impressive 63 runs, including four magnificent sixes.

He was well-supported by Huzaifah Usman, who contributed a steady 23 runs, while Mohammad Rohan added 15, and Mohammad Musab chipped in with a quickfire 20 runs to provide a solid finish.

In reply, DPS Modern Indian School showed great resolve and fought valiantly but fell short, managing 152 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs.

Pakistan International School’s bowling attack rose to the occasion, with Mustafa Usman delivering an outstanding performance, taking 2 wickets in his 4- over spell. Huzaifah Usman also played a pivotal role, claiming 2 crucial wickets, while Ismail Atiq and Muqarab Khan each secured 1 wicket to help the team cross the finish line.

The match was attended by a large and enthusiastic crowd. The event was graced by Ch. Muhammad Afzal, Principal of Pakistan International School, as the chief guest, who also presented medals and trophies to the winning and runner-up teams.

Ch. Muhammad Afzal commended both teams for their exceptional sportsmanship and the impressive quality of cricket exhibited throughout the match. He highlighted the importance of such tournaments in fostering talent, discipline, and camaraderie among young athletes and encouraged all players to continue striving for excellence in both sports and academics.
