DOHA: Msheireb Downtown Doha has announced the screening of the documentary film 'To the Sons of the Nation' on Wednesdayat Barahat Msheireb on the occasion of the National Day of and in partnership with the Doha Film Institute, in appreciation of the inspiring journey of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in building a modern and prosperous state.

The documentary, directed by Amal Al Muftah and Rawda Al Thani, is the first documentary to address the life and career of His Highness the Father Amir and his leadership vision. It highlights His Highness’s efforts to advance the nation, transform Qatar into an advanced country, and achieve prosperity and flourishing for all members of society, in addition to strengthening the country’s role and its leading position in the Arab region and the world.

The film screening is part of a series of events hosted by Msheireb Downtown Doha to celebrate the country’s National Day, which include activities, shows and competitions suitable for families and covering all age groups. The activities will be held starting on Wednesdayin the Palm Square, and include Qatari cultural and heritage shows such as the 'Ardah Hal Qatar' in addition to artistic and craft workshops and other events, which aim to provide a lively atmosphere to celebrate the rich cultural heritage enjoyed by the State of Qatar.

In the same context, Al Baraha Cinema is scheduled to screen a variety of family films in the open air until January 4. Barahat Msheireb will also host a live screening of the FIFA Confederations Cup Qatar 2024 final match, in addition to presenting other live screenings of the Gulf Cup 2024 matches from December 21 until January3, to welcome football fans and invite them to enjoy the atmosphere of the tournament.

This comes as Msheireb Downtown Doha announced a variety of other activities as part of its entertainment programme during the winter season, which will continue until next February, including the Mal Lol exhibition, which showcases the history of video games from the perspective of local game collectors, and will continue until next April 10.

Msheireb Downtown Doha will also host the Qatar Investment and Innovation Conference on January 15, with the participation of a group of entrepreneurs to discuss the latest technological developments and their role in enhancing economic growth and supporting regional cooperation.

In conjunction with these events, Palm Square is hosting the Candy Zone, an interactive event, held for the first time, to celebrate imagination and fun, and includes giant structures inspired by the world of candy.

Barahat Msheireb will also host an event titled Downtown Tech on January 30 and 31, which will showcase the most prominent solutions and technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, robotics, and self-driving vehicles. It will represent a platform that brings together innovators, technology enthusiasts, and industry leaders to discuss ways to benefit from advanced means to shape the coming future.

In another context, Msheireb Downtown Doha revealed that it will celebrate the National Sports Day 2025 through a group of sporting events and activities throughout the city, including the Al Baraha Musical Concert by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra on February14, 15, 18and 19. Msheireb Downtown Doha will also witness another group of special Ramadan events, including Iftar and Suhoor sessions from February 29 to March28, in an atmosphere that celebrates the holy month of Ramadan.
