DOHA: The Graduation Ceremony 2024 and Fashion Show titled 'La Moda Incontra La Cultura' (Fashion Meets Culture) hosted by the Istituto di Moda Burgo (IMB) Qatar in collaboration with the Sheikh Faisal Museum (event cultural partner) was a monumental success, held at the museum's Amphitheatre on December 14.

This ground breaking event, under the patronage of Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, celebrated the harmonious fusion of fashion and culture, with an extraordinary showcase of talent from the institute's graduating fashion students.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, who has been a strong patron of cultural initiatives in Qatar. Mona El Helbawi, General Manager of Aries Group, awarded the international fashion diploma to the graduates, while Ashraf Abuissa, Chairman & CEO of Abuissa Holding (Blue Salon), also honoured the occasion. Other notable attendees included Ebrahim Akbar Al-Ashar, Chairman of IMB Qatar, and Prof. Ivan Ninov, Executive Dean of Al Rayyan International University College, in collaboration with the University of Derby.

The event drew in prominent Qatari fashion icons, entrepreneurs, students' families, bloggers, and media partners such as Jamila Magazine, Qatar Tribune, Radio Olive Qatar, and Essence of Qatar.

The fashion show featured over 40 unique outfits, including collections from the graduating students, alongside designs inspired by the Sheikh Faisal Museum's rich cultural heritage. These impressive collections were showcased on the runway, all created by IMB Qatar students under the guidance of Ms. Meenu Prasad, the Head of the Institute, and her dedicated teaching team.

The success of the event was further supported by lead sponsors including Agile Information Technology Qatar, Mawarid Trading (Revlon), Blue Salon, Premium Naseem Healthcare, Mason De Joelle Salon, Jelwa Flowers, Selsela Accessories Qatar, and KRJ Interiors & Contracting Qatar.

During the graduation ceremony, Meenu Prasad, Co-founder and Institute Head, delivered an inspiring speech, reflecting on her vast experience in the fashion and art industries, giving a personal touch to the ceremony. The fashion collections presented at the show were a testament to the immense creativity and skill developed by the IMB Qatar students, demonstrating the potential cultivated during their courses.

Supporting partners for the event included Istituto di Moda Burgo Milan (the main office), Aries Group, Al Rayyan International University College in collaboration with the University of Derby, Centre of Modest Fashion, CLC, and Doha Women Forum, among others, whose contributions helped ensure the event’s overwhelming success.

This grand celebration of fashion and culture was a fitting tribute to the creative achievements of the graduating students, the Sheikh Faisal Museum’s cultural influence, the contributions of sponsors and partners, and the vision of IMB Qatar in shaping the future of fashion education in Qatar.
