The Ministry of Interior (MoI), through General Directorate of Communications and Information Systems, on Tuesday launched upgraded "Metrash” app as part of its digital vision.
The update is in line with ministry’s plan to enhance security, public safety, and service development through exceptional performance, while maintaining Qatar’s high standards in this field.
In a statement, the ministry explained that app’s new design was overhauled to incorporate the latest technology, offering a more streamlined and user-friendly experience across all types of smart devices.
The update includes a modern visual identity, restructured processes, an improved user experience, and use of artificial intelligence technologies.
The ministry also highlighted several new features, including a personal authorization service, which allows users to delegate specific tasks to another person, and a set of security services aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens and residents.
Additionally, a family authorization feature has been added, enabling users to assign a first-degree relative (spouse or children) to register via "Metrash.”
Other new features include a personal profile and "My Procedures” icon, which lets users track their actions within app.
There are also new services for Gulf nationals, allowing them to access services like renewing their ID cards and issuing replacements for lost or damaged cards. The app now supports new payment options, such as Apple Pay, and option for full payments.
