The National Day celebrations at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) concluded on Wednesday, attracting a large number of citizens and residents.
The events included national and heritage activities, impressive military parades, parachuting shows, a military band performance, traditional Qatari Ardha, and Al Thuraya Planetarium astronomy shows. Visitors also participated in the book of loyalty and allegiance activity.
Audiences watched the documentary ‘To the Sons of the Nation’ directed by Amal Al Muftah and Rawda Al Thani, in the Al Thuraya Planetarium as a tribute to the inspiring journey of the Father Amir HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in building a modern and prosperous state.
Visitors to Katara wrote heartfelt patriotic messages in the book of loyalty and allegiance, expressing their love and gratitude to Qatar and HH the Amir.
The tent of the Al-Gannas Qatari Society and the Al-Galayel Championship saw a significant turnout from Katara’s visitors and guests of Qatar, who learned about the traditions of hunting and falconry, alongside heritage competitions such as Saluki dog racing and bird hunting. The tent also showcased various achievements and artifacts.
Moreover, the famous Italian ship ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ docked at the Old Doha Port, joined the National Day celebrations as part of its global tour promoting messages of peace, communication, and cultural excellence. The ship offered visitors the chance to explore the Villaggio Italia platform, which serves as a window for cultural exchange and constructive dialogue, reflecting Italy’s rich cultural diversity in various fields. It also provided unique experiences combining traditional maritime training and innovation.
From December 15 to 18, Katara offered a diverse range of cultural, entertainment, and heritage activities and military parades.
