Frankfurt: Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug has admitted that his first months at West Ham United after a summer move from Borussia Dortmund have been very difficult. Fullkrug has only featured in five games of the London club as a substitute, scoring one goal. He also missed several months with injury. He told the Copa TS podcast that the summer move was "risky” but that he had "very different goals” when he arrived on a contract until 2028. "To put it bluntly, it went really badly for me,” he said. West Ham are 14th and unlikely to play in Europe. Fullkrug reached the Champions League final during his year in Dortmund. "I knew I was taking a step down and a certain risk that I wouldn’t play internationally next year, maybe not the year after that either, and I would be making make a big, big switch,” Fullkrug said.
