DOHA: The Doha Metro andLusail Tram have played a vital role in ensuring smooth mobility for fans and the public during theFIFA Confederations Cup Qatar 2024 matches and Qatar National Day celebrations.
From December 11 to 18, the Metro and Tram networks recorded a ridership of around 1.67 million passengers, Qatar Rail said in a spocial media post on Thursday.
During that time, some 1,600,000 passangers used the Doha Metrowhile 70,000 made use of the service ofLusail Tram.
On December 18 alone around 364,000 travelled on theDoha Metro, Qatar Rail said.
On the National Day (Dec 18), which happened to be the day the final of theFIFA Confederations Cup Qatar 2024 was played between the Spanish giants Real Madrid and Mexican side CF Pachuca at the Lusail Stadium, according to Qatar Rail, Katara, Souq Waqif and Lusail QNB were the busiest Metro stations.
