Qatar Railways Company (QRail) has announced that about 1.67 million passengers used the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks during the period from December 11 to 18.

In a statement on Thursday, Qatar Rail said 1.6 million passengers used the Doha Metro network during that period, while more than 70,000 used the Lusail Tram lines to head to various areas of the National Day events and stadiums that hosted the matches of the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2024 and other major destinations linked to the two networks.

Wednesday was the busiest day on the metro network at its 37 stations, with about 363,517 passengers, while the Lusail QNB, Souq Waqif and Katara stations were the busiest.

Qatar Rail highlighted that the services accompanying the metro and tram (first and last mile services), such as Metrolink and Metro Express, contributed to facilitating the movement of passengers to and from destinations, and towards the main event areas and tournament stadiums, as the Metrolink service continued to operate through 61 routes covering 30 metro stations, while the Metro Express service continued to operate through 10 metro stations and 12 tram stations.
