Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) welcomed national team football players including Almoez Ali, Abdul Karim Hassan, Bassam al Rawi, Asim Madibo and Abdul Karim al Ali as well as former national coach Saeed Saad al Misned and current national team coach Félix S?nchez Bas on Monday, to celebrate the country’s historic success during the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
The stars were welcomed by the CEO of Aspire Zone Foundation, Mohammed Khalifa al Suwaidi, Director General at Aspire Academy Ivan Bravo, Deputy Director General of the Academy Ali Salem Afifah, Aspetar’s Acting Director General, Ali Salem Afifa, Abdulla Nasser al Naemi, Director General, Aspire Logistics and a large number of senior officials and employees from AZF.
Marking the occasion, the CEO said, “I would like to start by once again extending my sincere congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, and His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani, the Personal Representative of His Highness the Amir, and to everyone in Qatar on this historic occasion.”
“It is very hard to put into words the strength of my feelings. But the extent of our happiness at Aspire is abundantly clear given all that the team has achieved. We are extremely proud of the fact that the majority of the players in the national team are Aspire Academy graduates,” he added.
Ivan Bravo, Director General at Aspire Academy, said: “I’d like to thank the entire Aspire family for contributing to this historic achievement. Everyone has worked extremely hard in getting us to this point. I’d like to extend my congratulation and thanks to Mohammed Khalifa al Suwaidi and all the members of the Aspire Zone Foundation for the incredible teamwork and collaboration amongst AZF’s member organisations – Aspire Academy, Aspetar, and Aspire Logistics.”
Ivan Bravo also paid special tribute to the national team coach Felix Sanchez and his efforts in ensuring the team’s success during these past few years.
Aspire Academy graduates Moataz Barshim and Abdullah Tamimi also attended the ceremony.
Star player and Asain Cup record goalscorer in a single tournament Almoez Ali said: “We are delighted to be back at Aspire Academy today. We promise you that the best is yet to come.”
