Prince William Aresgado Jr., an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) based in Qatar and originally from Tagapul-an, Western Samar, Region 8, expressed his gratitude to the FilipiKnows Network for the opportunity to be one of the hosts at the FilipiKnows Fun Fair event.
An Arts & Crafts instructor and event organiser, Aresgado said this was his first time hosting the event.
“What a truly memorable, heartwarming, and rewarding gathering it has been at 900 Park, organised by the founder of FilipiKnows, Paolo Carlo Gorriceta. The heartfelt efforts of our hardworking kababayans were the highlight of the event. I saw how much time and effort our Doha influencers and bloggers dedicated to sharing this event with everyone. Indeed, it was a true celebration of community, unity, and giving back—values that embody the spirit of being ‘one Filipino.’ So many of our kababayans benefited from this event with free entry for all, a convenient location near the metro station, and the chance to showcase their talents. Of course, the kids had a blast too, especially with the Inflata Run offering the longest inflatable obstacle course in the area. Let’s continue to spread kindness, not just today, but beyond,” said Aresgado.
He ended with a festive note: “Magkakasama tayong magpapasalamat ngayong Pasko, AIWANatics!”
Mylene “Myles” Inalisan-Laurinaria, one of the event hosts, also shared her thoughts on the success of the FilipiKnows Fun Fair. Her husband, Drillon Laurinaria, played a key role in organizing the Battle of the Bands, helping to ensure the event ran smoothly.
“The FilipiKnows Fun Fair 2024 was a huge success! I was assigned to Day 2, Rakrakan Day with Bandang Pinoy. We conceptualized bringing 12 bands, from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, to create a music festival experience for our kababayans. Many of them are likely missing the holidays in the Philippines, and through this free concert, we were able to bring them some joy, even in a small way. MD Studio was the main band coordinator, and organizing 12 bands with almost 70 members was definitely challenging. But with the spirit of volunteerism in their hearts, the task became much easier,” said Myles.
