KUWAIT: Spanish coach Luis Garcia expressed his satisfaction with Qatar's draw against the UAE during the first round of Group 1 matches of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup, which took place at Jaber Al Mubarak Al Sabah Stadium in Kuwait City on Saturday.

In a press conference, the coach said that Qatar started the match in an ideal manner; taking the lead, a lead that could have been doubled. He pointed out, however, that the game was not as easy as expected, as it was against a strong opponent with high-quality players.

Garcia said that the Qatari players showed a strong performance throughout most of the game, being in control, before a slight decline in the second half of the first half.

The coach added that the Qatari players showed great fighting spirit by creating several chances although they were not utilized, emphasizing that the draw was a fair result considering the overall performance in the opening match.

In conclusion, the Qatari coach said that the team look forward to completing the rest of the tournament in full force, noting that work will be done for players to regain their full strength and begin preparations for the next match against Oman on Tuesday, with hopes of performing better and achieving better results.
