Sheikha Abdulrahman Al-Badi, assistant undersecretary for national manpower in the private sector at the Ministry of Labour (MoL), held a meeting on Sunday with a delegation from the Ministry of Labour of the Sultanate of Oman, led by Dr Mohammed Al-Najjar, director-general of training.

The meeting was attended by Huda Abdulrahman Al-Mughisib, director of Public Relations and Communication Department; Mohammed Salem Al-Khulifi, acting director of the Department of Qualifying and Skills Development; and, from the Omani side, Kawthar Al-Yahmadiyah, assistant director for training return evaluation, and Nasser Al-Raqadi, director of training and qualification.

During the meeting, the delegation was briefed on the comprehensive services and programmes implemented by the MoL to develop and enhance the skills of the national workforce.

They also explored pioneering initiatives aimed at increasing national workforce participation in the private sector, aligning with the objectives of the Third National Development Strategy, which aims to raise the proportion of Qatari nationals in the private sector to 20 percent of the total workforce.

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between the MoL and its counterpart in Oman in the fields of human resource development and to foster mutual benefits from shared opportunities and successful experiences in both countries, ultimately benefiting their respective workforces.
