DAMASCUS: Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi has met in Damascus with Commander-in-Chief of the new administration in the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic HE Ahmed Al-Shara.
During the meeting, they reviewed the close relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, and consulted on the future of Syria and the prospects of the State of Qatar's continued support for the brotherly Syrian people in all fields.
They also discussed the needs of Damascus International Airport and how to provide the necessary support to operate it within the framework of Qatar's humanitarian and development aid.
During the meeting, the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the continued unwavering support of the State of Qatar for the Syrian brothers to build a state of institutions that is governed by justice, freedom, development and peace, stressing in this context the need to ensure the unity of Syria and work towards a peaceful transfer of power through a comprehensive political process for all segments of the Syrian people based on Security Council Resolution 2254 and strengthening efforts to protect civilians and combat terrorism.
The Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's praise for the measures taken by the new administration.
