His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has sent a cable of condolences to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan HE Ilham Aliyev, on the victims of the plane crash near the city of Aktau, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
At least 38 people have died after an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane crashed near the Kazakhstan city of Aktau. The plane with 62 passengers and five crew members on board crashed on Wednesday after it was forced to make an emergency landing about three kilometres from Aktau.
The Embraer 190 aircraft was en route from the Azerbaijani capital of Baku to the Russian city of Grozny in the North Caucasus.
