DOHA: Under the slogan 'Sight is a Right for All', Qatar Charity (QC) with the support of philanthropists in Qatar has conducted two anti-blindness campaigns in Burkina Faso, benefiting 200 underprivileged patients suffering from vision impairment.

QC said that all patients underwent the necessary medical examinations, and received free cataract removal surgeries, in collaboration with the National Center for Blindness Prevention of Burkina Faso's Ministry of Health.

Officials, professionals and beneficiaries of these campaigns lauded the philanthropists' efforts in Qatar in extending a helping hand to the most vulnerable groups in Burkina Faso, emphasizing the importance of these campaigns in providing an opportunity for visually impaired and blind individuals to regain their sight.

They also expressed great trust in Qatar Charity's ability to successfully organise and execute these initiatives.

The two campaigns focused on patients in rural areas, where extreme poverty and a lack of healthcare services are widespread.
