The Sri Lankans Community Development Forum (CDF) Qatar celebrated Qatar National Day with an exciting internal volleyball tournament.
The tournament was a wonderful reflection of the strong bond between the Sri Lankan community and Qatar, highlighting their deep respect for the host nation’s culture and diversity.
As residents of Qatar, Sri Lankans take great pride in calling this beautiful country their second home, recognising it as one of the finest countries in the world.
Five vibrant teams participated in the tournament: Ababeel, Doha Challenges, Power 6, Wings of Peace, and V Champions. The tournament created many enjoyable and unforgettable moments, especially for families and children who gathered to cheer for their favorite teams.
Tournament Structure:
Round 1: This round featured a league match system, where all teams played each other. Round 2: The round saw qualifier matches to determine the finalists.
The Power 6 team emerged the champion, while Ababeel was the runners-Up and Super 6 received the Fair Play Award.
The tournament was held at the Al Jazeera Academy Indoor Hall in Abu Hamour, providing a perfect setting for this spirited sporting event. Special gifts for women were generously sponsored by Kingdom Jewellery Qatar, while Dreams Cake by RizRiza treated everyone to delicious cakes. The celebration was more than just a sports event — it was a beautiful blend of sportsmanship, community spirit, and respect for Qatar’s National Day. It reaffirmed the close ties between the Sri Lankan community and the country that graciously hosts them.
