The Al Wakra Municipality, represented by the Municipal Control Department, carried out an extensive inspection campaign targeting the Barwa Village within the administrative boundaries of the municipality.
The campaign included the inspection of 62 food establishments, resulting in the issuance of one seizure report and a recommendation to close a food facility, in addition to distributing 86 awareness posters.
Dr Nawal Mohammed Abdullah, assistant director of the Municipal Control Department, stated that the campaign aims to enhance regulatory awareness among companies and shops, and to emphasise compliance with municipal laws.
The campaign focused on raising awareness of Law No 18 of 2017 on public hygiene and Law No 1 of 2012 on regulating and monitoring advertisements.
Salem Mohammed Al Hajri, head of the General Control Department, explained that the campaign included 19 inspection tours to ensure that shops comply with laws related to hygiene and advertisements.
Awareness posters equipped with QR codes containing details of the advertising law, the planning requirements guide, and procedures for advertising were distributed.
Regarding food safety, Hamad Ibrahim Al Sheikh, head of the Health Control Department, said that the campaign focused on educating workers about food safety rules to ensure the provision of healthy and safe products to consumers.
The commitment of food establishments to health requirements was also verified.
For his part, Saeed Al Shawi, senior building permit inspection expert, pointed out that compliance with the provisions of Building Regulation Law No 4 of 1985 and its amendments was followed up, in a way that enhances the urban system and preserves public and private property.
The campaign resulted in raising the level of regulatory awareness and emphasising the importance of adhering to the laws to achieve a safe and clean environment that serves the community.
