DOHA: Qatar University has announced the acceptance of about 900 male and female students for the undergraduate stage for the spring semester of 2025, of whom the percentage of Qatari students was about 70 percent.

The university called on all student applicants for the spring semester of 2025 to view admission decisions in their electronic admission accounts via the university’s website https://mybanner.qu.edu.qa/.

In a statement on this occasion, Dr Mohammad Diab, Vice President for Student Affairs at Qatar University, explained the foundations on which the admission process at the university is based.

He said that admission is based on the principle of competitiveness among applicants, noting that meeting the minimum requirements for studying in the secondary school certificate does not necessarily mean that the student will be accepted into the college, but rather students are accepted in each semester according to the capacity of each college separately.

Dr Diab called on students who were unable to obtain an opportunity for admission in Spring 2025 to apply again for the next semester, Fall 2025.

He stressed the university's keenness to provide quality education, and said that the university believes that education goes beyond the limits of academic achievement, to form an integrated educational process that contributes to refining students' personalities and developing their skills through academic and non-academic activities.

He added that Qatar University seeks to provide a stimulating educational environment that enables students to invest in all the opportunities available to them on campus, and to provide the resources and capabilities that help them achieve excellence and distinction, in addition to supporting them in their academic journey to achieve their ambitions and future goals.

Regarding the electronic orientation program for new students, Fatima Al Kuwari, Director of the Admissions Department, said that the program will be held for transferred and new students on January 12, before the start of the semester scheduled for January 19 according to the university academic calendar, while the drop and add period ends on January 23, 2025.
