The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), in collaboration with other apex bodies under the aegis of the Embassy of India, held a condolence meeting to honour the memory of Dr Manmohan Singh, former prime minister of India, who passed away in New Delhi on December 26.

The solemn event was attended by India’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Vipul, and Dr Vaibhav Tandale, First Secretary of the Embassy of India.

HE Vipul highlighted Dr Singh’s contribution to India’s growth story and read an excerpt from the message shared by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the meeting, ICC President A P Manikantan, ICBF President Shanavas Bava, ISC General Secretary Nihad Ali, IBPC President Thaha Muhammad, IBPC’s Vice President Abdul Sattar, and Dr Mohan Thomas shared heartfelt messages expressing their admiration and respect for Dr Manmohan Singh’s legacy.

Head of School Activities at ICC, Shantanu Deshpande, anchored the meeting proceedings. Abraham Joseph, Secretary at ICC, conveyed the vote of thanks. ICC’s Managing Committee members, Advisory Committee members, and a large number of delegates from the Indian diaspora were present on this occasion.
